Cycling involves repetitive motion, literally thousands of pedal strokes in the same position. That's why it's so important to make sure your bike fits your body in the best way possible. Not only does a good bike fit make for a more efficient and enjoyable ride, but it also ensures that you're not doing damage to your knees, back and neck with all of those pedal strokes. How high your seat is, how far forward you sit, the angle of your handlebars, and a whole host of other factors greatly affect the comfort and quality of your experience on a bike. Whether you're an avid racer, a weekend warrior or just a casual recreational rider, it's important to make sure that all of those pedal strokes are strengthening your body rather than breaking it down.
Aaron Curtis, owner of CYCLE SPORT, has been professionally trained in Specialized 's Body Geometry Fit process and can adjust your bike to fit your unique physique. Contact us to learn more about the process and to make an appointment!
Body Geometry Fit enables riders to maximize power, endurance, and comfort. During your personal Body Geometry Fit session, Aaron will assess your individual needs and systematically tailor your bike position and equipment to your body.
First, I will learn about how you ride, your cycling goals, and other pertinent information to understand your needs as a rider.
He will then administer a comprehensive 18-step process to determine the flexibility and dimensions of your body. This is critical to guide the customization of your bike position and equipment.
He will visually assess your position on the bike while you ride. This provides additional information to optimize your position and equipment.
During this 15-step process, Aaron will personalize your bike position and equipment choice. In the end, saddle selection and position, shoes, footbeds, cleat position, and handlebar position are all optimized to your body.
At the conclusion of the process, Aaron will schedule a follow-up to review your adaptation to the new position, answer your questions, and provide guidance on how to get the most out of your ride.
